TRV Student Services recognizes the unique challenges experienced by veterans choosing to attend college post-military service. Whether it is difficulties adjusting to an unfamiliar and challenging environment or learning to juggle multiple new responsibilities, such as studying and testing taking, TRV is here to assist you achieve success. TRV assists by providing individual, academic, and community support that is sensitive to the special needs of our Veterans. In addition, we provide advocacy, research awareness, resources referrals and career exploration. We also provide several social and academic events throughout the semester to help foster a sense of community and camaraderie. 

Military Family Member Students

TRV Student Services is also here to support our Military Family Member Students.  As you begin this next phase, military family members can also have unique challenges.  TRV is here to provide you support as you begin this next transition.  Whether it be applying for and utilizing benefits or just acclimating to a new area, TRV is here to assist you in achieving academic success.

What is a Veteran Scholar?

A student is considered a Veteran scholar if he/she has served in any military branch and are furthering his/her education at a university or community college. You are given priority registration if you are a veteran currently receiving Department of Veteran Affairs eduational benefits.  This benefit can be applied from one semester to the next.

 

What is a Military Dependent?

Military dependents are the spouse(s), children, and possibly other familial relationship categories of a sponsoring military member for purposes of pay as well as special benefits, privileges and rights. Military Dependents are entitled to certain benefits under the G.I. Bill ® along with their veteran independents.
