All currently registered students are eligible for care which can include individual therapy, group therapy, medication evaluations, and referrals to community resources if appropiate.

The office aids in obtaining educational benefits that veterans and dependents are entitled to. Services include processing enrollment certifications to the VA office and providing priority registration for our veterans.

The office acts a point-of-contact for general questions and connects elligible students veterans, reservists and dependents with a community of other individuals who can help with the transition to campus through graduation. Services include a resource center, mentorship programs, student organizations and information about additional federal and state benefits.

The Office of the University Registrar supports the mission of the University of California, Merced, by serving as the primary office of academic records. To that end, we oversee various processess and programs indlucing: initial student registration through verification of degree conferral, veteran services and classroom scheduling.

The Bright Success Center offers a range of tools and resources the support undergraduate student success. In addition to providing academic coaching, transition support, and learning support resources, the BSC offers a variety of online tools and in-person workshops aimed to help students step up to the challenges and demands of university life and beyond. Our wide range of rograms, from Fiat Lux to Transfer, Returning and Veterans Programs to Guardian Scholars and many more, help support and encourage our students to take an active role in their scholarly endeavors through individualized attention from a staff passionate about the success of Bobcats at UC Merced and beyond.

You may specifically ask for the Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation New Dawn (OEF/OIF/OND) contact. This person will be well-versed in benefits and services for the returning Veterans. Also, it may be helpful to get information about the local PTSD or Mental Health contact. Will assist with filling for Disability Rating and obtaining Compensation and Pension Evaluations if needed.

Provides confidential readjustment counseling and outreach services to all Veterans who served in any zone or experienced military sexual trauma. Services are also available for family members for military-related issues. Vet Centers also provides bereavement counseling services to surviving parents, spouses, children, and siblings of Service Members who die of any cause on active duty, including federally activated Reserve and National Guard personnel.

One Source provides support for a variety of issues related to military service including relationship counseling, non-medical counseling for stress, financial counseling, education and career benefits, child care options, and many other services. This service is available to active duty, National Guard and Reserves, Discharged service members, Retirees, Medically Discharged service members, and immediate family members of these service members.

The Merced County Veteran's Services Office (VSO) assists veterans, their dependents and survivors, and the general public in obtaining benefits from federal, state, and local agencies administering programs for veterans. Including but not limited to service-connected compensation, Aid and Attendance, survivor's benefits, copies of military records, educational benefits, employment, vocational rehabilitation, Public assistance, in home support services, alcohol and drug dependency treatment, home loans, as well as other state and federal benefits.

*** Merced County will also issue a Veteran ID Car (does not provide benefits at VA). Bring copies of all DD-214s and Government issued ID to above address on Thursday or Friday from 9AM to 4PM

A free confidential program that offers specialized coaching and assistance for active duty, reservist, national guard members, veterans, and retirees who need access to mental health care when relocating to a new location, transitioning from active to reserve, leaving the service, or any other time they need a new mental health provider or a provider for the first time.
